Systems and Computational Biomedicine

The Department of Systems and Computational Biomedicine develops and applies methods for analyzing large and complex data sets.  This includes health data science (which aims to extract knowledge from large data sets to improve our understanding of diseases) and computational biology (which aims to develop and apply theoretical and analytical methods, including mathematical modeling and computer simulation of data sets from biological systems). The department’s graduate program prepares students in some of the most advanced modes of biomedical research through specialized courses and seminars.
