Clinical and Translational Science Center

The Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) funds innovative and high-risk interdisciplinary research projects; partners with community organizations in neighborhoods where there are obvious health disparities; and trains early-career scientists. The goal of these efforts is to nurture scientific discoveries intended to improve human health. Participating area institutions include º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, Hunter College’s Center for Translational and Basic Research, and Cornell Ithaca’s School of Bioengineering and College of Veterinary Medicine, among others. The center is best known for providing generous pilot grants to collaborative research projects undertaken by investigators from different institutions and disciplines. In also offers smaller grants to pre-doctoral and post-doctoral scientists. The center’s educational efforts include summer fellowships for medical students, three classroom-based degree programs in clinical and translational research, and regular seminars and workshops covering a variety of health topics.
