The Caryl and Israel Englander Institute for Precision Medicine brings clinicians, basic scientists, pathologists and computational biologists together to pinpoint the molecular underpinnings of disease and discover novel therapies to treat them. The institute uses next-generation sequencing to determine the molecular profile of each patient’s disease and the genetic mutations that drive its growth. It also runs a robust biobanking program and plans to expand precision medicine techniques from cancer diagnosis and care to other areas of clinical relevance. The institute offers continuing medical educational opportunities for faculty and an area of concentration research block for medical students.
